IMAGINE YOU’LL GET LOCKED OUT OF YOUR MAIL SOMEDAY,AND YOU WON’T GET BACK IN.”HOW DO YOU PLAN FOR THAT DAY?”
HERE are three easy ways that works for gmail;some may work for other wedmail services ,too.
One: Mark a copy of all mail to another webmail account .Different login, password ,may be even different webmail service, though that isn’t necessary.
Gmail lets you cop y all incoming mails to any other email accout just follow this procedure:
1.click on settings
2.Then select on forwarding pages
In that account, you can clear up spam and newsletters ,etc once a month ,retaining essential mail.
Two: Keep a backup on your PC. Set up Gmail for POP download(on settings page).this lets you download a copy of all your gmail mails to your PC- into Outlook or Thunderbird or any other email software you use.
Three: Use free software to make a backup of your webmail .e..g is Gmail Backup, available free at gmail-backup.com
Four: And keep your account information current, so you can recover if you forget your password or get locked out. Make sure the ‘alternate email address’ in your webmail is still current and active (on the Settings, Account page in Gmail) so they can send you a new password on the address.
Five:Record your security question and answer, keep a copy ,elsewhere,of the first ‘welcome mail that gmail sends you- you may be asked for that date and other information in there.
So , keep your data i.e. bills, tax details , critical one including password, everything in your webmail.
